JA | Ductile Iron Flange Socket for PVC-U Pipes | EN 12842
The JA ductile iron flange socket is designed to connect a flanged component to a PVC-U pressure pipe using a push-in socket joint in drinking water supply and irrigation networks.
Material
- Ductile iron EN-GJS-420-5
- EPDM gasket
Coating
- Blue heavy-duty epoxy powder coating, RAL 5005, minimum thickness 250 μm, in accordance with EN 14901-1.
- ACS approved for drinking water applications.
Certification
Compliant with EN 12842 for ductile iron fittings for PVC-U piping systems.
Assembly
- The fitting combines a loose flange connection with a push-in socket joint for PVC-U pressure pipes.
- The PVC-U pipe end must be cut perpendicular to the pipe axis and chamfered before insertion.
- Watertightness is achieved by radial compression of the EPDM gasket when the pipe is inserted into the socket.
- The specified joint gap (J) must be maintained to allow angular deflection.
- For the loose flange connection, we recommend using an EPDM rubber-metal flange gasket : see datasheet JOINT-INSERT-METAL.

Loose Flange Assembly
The loose flange segments are held together by steel retaining rings for increased mechanical strength.
